About Us
Introduction
Mother of Millions Foundation was established to provide charitable support to various causes throughout Zambia.
The Foundation was started by first focusing on the Prison Ministry by providing education facilities to children and juveniles in prisons in Zambia. The founder has so far received approval from the Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide education services to children and juveniles at Lusaka Central and Kamwala Remand Prisons in Lusaka. Lusaka Central Prison currently has children in the age range 2 months to 5 years whilst Kamwala Remand has juveniles in the age ranges 12 years to 15 years. Plans are underway to extend education facilities to juveniles in Kabwe and Mazabuka Prisons in 2015 and thereafter, other prisons across Zambia. So far, a structure which was being used partly as a dining room was offered to the Foundation to set up a school for children. The prison authority at Lusaka Central Prison has also offered the foundation bare land within the prison premises to build a school for children.
The organization, with authorization from the Ministry of Home Affairs, was allowed to demarcate a dining hall at the Chimbokaila Central Prison based in Kabwata township Lusaka to make a classroom for the children and has since employed 2 teachers and operates from Monday to Friday.
Due to lack of education infrastructure within the prison, the Government of the Republic of Zambia has given land to the organization to build 6 classrooms in the prison to be used as a school for the children, juveniles and as a skill center for the women and mothers in prison.

Supporting Children and Families of Prisoners
Parental incarceration and the disruption of family relationships can produce negative outcomes for children, including poverty, poor academic performance, aggression, depression, delinquency, and substance abuse. Incarcerated mothers and fathers are unable to work on parenting skills that may be necessary for reunification, and separation interferes with the ability of parent and child to form or maintain a strong attachment.
Family-centered services for incarcerated parents, their children, and families focus on parenting programs, family strengthening activities, nurturing of family relationships, community supports for families during incarceration and following release, and gender-specific interventions.
